Predictions follow-up - 9/2
Upset predictions:
Prediction: GT 24 - ND 17.
Actual: ND 14 - GT 10.
Georgia Tech surprised everyone, including me - difference being that I expected them to eek out the win, not vice versa. In a perfect world, Notre Dame should drop a couple of slots down in ranking, but considering the national love-fest for the irish, that may not be likely. (Why do people love USC, ND, and Michigan so damn much?)
Prediction: Tennessee 36 - Cal 20.
Actual: Tennessee 40 - Cal 18.
Well, I called this monstruous Tennessee upset pretty close to the actual score. Expect Cal to tumble down the rankings and Tennesse to receive a hearty boost - and rightfully so. Cal got throttled.
Prediction: UAB 24 - Oklahoma 23.
Actual: Oklahoma 24 - UAB 17.
If Adrian Peterson wasn't Adrian Peterson (the best running back in NCAA), the Sooners would have lost this game. His two second half scores kept UAB at bay for a close win no one expected.
Not so easy wins:
Prediction: USC 31 - Arkansas 29.
Actual: USC 50 - Arkansas 14.
So this one ended up being a beating, but it was admittedly a risky pick. John David Booty and USC impressed, even though it was only Arkansas.
Prediction: Michigan 24 - Vanderbilt 16.
Actual: Michigan 27 - Vanderbilt 7.
The score is deceiving. Down by only 6 at the half, Vandy kept it close for a while as the Wolverines knocked out an ugly win.
Prediction: Penn State 31 - Akron 24.
Actual: Penn State 34 - Akron 16.
Yes Akron will probably win the MAC, but honestly - the MAC is garbage. I'd like to see how JoePa fares against Notre Dame. Is there a way for 2 teams to lose?
