Ahmadinejad issues (more) threats

And as to what he specifically said about Israel:President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran added a threatening edge to his verbal onslaught on Israel today [see below for more on this verbal onlslaught] by warning European governments to withdraw their support or face getting "hurt" in a storm of retaliation.
He also called Britain and the United States "enemies of Iran" whose attempts to block the country's nuclear programme at the UN security council were "illegitimate".
Mr Ahmadinejad was speaking in Tehran at the annual Qods [Jerusalem] day rally, staged by Iran's Islamic regime to propagate its ideological opposition to Israel. He repeated predictions that Israel would soon disappear but, in a fresh warning, said European countries could pay a much higher price than the US for their backing.
"We have advised the Europeans that the Americans are far away, but you are the neighbours of the nations in this region," he said. "We inform you that the nations are like an ocean that is welling up, and if a storm begins, the dimensions will not stay limited to Palestine, and you may get hurt. It is in your own interest to distance yourself from these criminals ... This is an ultimatum. Don't complain tomorrow."
Mr Ahmadinejad, who last year called for Israel to be "wiped off the map" and dismissed the holocaust as a "myth", has not previously made such a clear distinction between US and European support for Israel. [...]
Ahmadinejad, who has a history of similarly fiery rhetoric, said Israel no longer had any reason to exist and would soon disappear.
"This regime, thanks to God, has lost the reason for its existence," he said.
"Efforts to stabilize this fake (Israeli) regime, by the grace of God, have completely failed... You should believe that this regime is disappearing."

Ahmadinejad is scary for several reasons and a new perspective was thrown in recently during my Ethics and International Relations class. The madi, or the coming of the lost prophet, comparable to the second coming of Christ, is brought upon by the onslaught of armaggeadon. Interestingly, there are two ways for the Islamic version of this to occur. One version is that the world will converted into Islam, either by forced conversion or the death of those that aren't, until there are only Muslims on Earth. When this occurs, the madi will return. The other version is after armaggeadon has happened and the Earth has been destroyed. In other words, the annihilation of humanity, will bring upon the religious madi of Islam. Why is this important? Well, if Ahmadinejad wants to bring this, he can create nuclear weapons and begin the onslaught. An interesting theory, in that he doesn't care about his people or his own well-being, but rather the advancement of Islam and this particular madi to occur was the focus of our discussion. Where does that leave us if this man is so deeply rooted in the belief that he can force this religious end-game? Please share your thoughts.
