Oh crap... North Korea tests Nuke

North Korea claims to have tested its first nuclear weapons, which correlates to a seismic event the United States Geological Survey detected earlier in the day. China's mad (Japan has already condemned even the thought of a North Korean test), prompting concerns of an Asian arms race that researchers had previously said wouldn't happen.

What happens now? What does North Korea want? If it's respect among world leaders and a cooperative United States, then it seems Kim Jong-il has "blundered spectacularly" as this test might prove to have the opposite effect.

Kim Jong-il is now nuclear.
