A lead in the Pata murder?

Police yesterday arrested an Everett teenager [Jerome Brody] and called him "a person of interest" in the slaying of a former Roxbury gang leader who was helping to lead a truce effort. [...]

Brody is also being eyed in connection with the unsolved homicide of a University of Miami football player, said a law enforcement official with knowledge of the Brody investigation. Bryan Pata, a 22-year-old senior defensive tackle, was shot to death Nov. 7 in the parking lot of his apartment complex near the university campus. The official said Miami authorities want to speak with Brody about the killing because his sister was dating Pata and Brody believed she was being mistreated.
