Photo: "dad and his espresso"

This is a sort of continuation of my final project for my photography minor in college: "hands." It was a series of portraits of my friends and family, but using their hands to tell their story.

This photo was taken well after my project was completed, but my fascination has continued. This is my father's right hand, holding a very familiar fresh cup of espresso (well, usually a cuban cortadito) while enjoying the soon-to-set San Diego sun.

I shot this on my canon eos rebel 2000 35mm. If I remember correctly, I used 100 ISO Kodak film, set the camera to 200 and had it processed at 400, to give it a distinctive, almost lomo feel.
